[strongSwan] Permission Denied error

I just got StrongSwan installed on Ubuntu 14.04 and I tried to create a key using the instructions provided:

ipsec pki --gen > caKey.der

gets me the following error:


bash: caKey.der: Permission denied


I tried to run it with sudo and I get the same error.   I assume the key would be populated in:

  /etc/ipsec.d/private


Any help is appreciated!
