Hi,

I have encountered issue when trying to use StrongSwan 5.3.0dr2 built with NDK android-ndk-9b. VoIP App which is using StrongSwan as an VPN client (StrongSwan is imported as .jar) has target set to 23.

So when this app is installed to 5.x Android phone everything works fine.

When App is installed to the Android M phone and all Permissions manually accepted, StrongSwan fails to start opening VPN connection having the following error log:

Apr 13 15:17:55 00[DMN] Starting IKE charon daemon (strongSwan 5.3.0dr2, Linux 3.10.40-ge42477a, armv7l)
Apr 13 15:17:55 00[LIB] feature CUSTOM:libcharon-receiver in critical plugin 'charon' has unmet dependency: CUSTOM:socket
Apr 13 15:17:55 00[LIB] feature CUSTOM:libcharon in critical plugin 'charon' has unmet dependency: CUSTOM:libcharon-receiver
Apr 13 15:17:55 00[LIB] feature CUSTOM:android-backend in critical plugin 'androidbridge' has unmet dependency: CUSTOM:libcharon
Apr 13 15:17:55 00[LIB] failed to load 3 critical plugin features

Since issue is observed only on Android M phone (same App on Android 5.x phones works fine, so I suppose it is properly built), suspicion is that observed issue is somehow related to Permissions.

Can StrongSwan 5.3.0dr2 (App forces targetSdkVersion = 23) work on Android M phones, or I need to move to newer one? Has anyone observed similar issues?

Thanks and best regards,
Zeljko
