Yes, stroke just redirects the log output, but has no additional
information about the success of an operation.

The stroke backend was actually never meant to do complex scripting, and
we don't have any immediate plans to change that.

strongSwan has a very flexible plugin interface, though. It allows you
to hook in a much better IPC mechanism to your application/scripts,
specifically for your needs.
