Thank you, Kim,

that was very fast! I have seen the wiki page during googling, 
but as ist was not about l2tp I was struggling with in that 
moment, I didn't dig into it. I'll dig deeper. In meantime I 
found, that certificates can just be sent by email - there is no 
USB connector, that's why I started with preshared keys.

I'll post either more questions or a success story later.
