[strongSwan] Strongswan not forwarding ESP packets : Can anyone help?

Success!

After several late nights any much scratching of head I've finally
figured out my problem.

The client (it's an Android phone) was encapsulating the the ESP
within UDP even though there was no NAT between the devices (in what I
thought was my simple test configuration).

The solution is to add forceencaps=yes to the ipsec.conf file.
