Hi,

after two weeks of interoperability testing against various third
party VPN clients and gateways, most XAUTH bugs have been fixed.

XAUTH interoperability in conjunction with IKE Main Mode (RSA and PSK)
has been practically proved with the NCP Secure Entry Client
(www.ncp.de), the Freeware Shrew Soft VPN client (www.shrew.net),
the Cisco VPN client (you need a licence!), as well as a Cisco 3000
VPN access concentrator.

With the possibility of plugging in a dynamic XAUTH verification
module via dlopen(), the libdl library is now required. -ldl was
not automatically included by the strongSwan 2.8.1 and 4.0.6 Makefiles
which lead to linking errors. This bug has been fixed.

Both releases are available from

Best regards

Andreas
