[strongSwan] strongswan client 5.6.2 on linux unable to use ECDSA certs or keys

More recent package for my system doesn't exist so though I'm not an expert
I wanted to try compilation of 5.9.6 version. After a few stumbles I could
compile but now I'm stuck again.
ipsec and pki seem to be correctly installed and working but charon-nm is
always at version 5.6.2 and looking in its folder doesn't seem to be
compiled at all.
What am I missing?
