[strongSwan] Radius AUTH with mschapv2 succeeds, but no connection is established

Hello,

Linux strongSwan U5.5.1/K4.9.0-15-amd64 on debian9


Apr 18 18:32:38 12[IKE] <vpn-default|2> EAP method EAP_MSCHAPV2
succeeded, MSK established
Apr 18 18:32:38 10[IKE] <vpn-default|2> verification of AUTH payload
with EAP MSK failed

what does this mean? what can I do? (I cannot upgrade this server, too
much custom legacy software)

I've tried to reduce the fragment_size to even 1000, but still no success.
I had absolutely no problems connecting to same setup on Ubuntu 20.04
(strongswan 5.8.2).
