[strongSwan] Server on Mac OS X?

Has anyone ever installed strongSwan IKEv2 server on Mac OS X? I’ve followed a few different tutorials but haven’t found any way to make it work. I don’t know if it’s a Mac specific problem or if it’s just me not knowing what to do.. but having lots of trouble. 

I’m even having trouble figuring out how to get detailed error logs. The best I can see is:
Jan 21 22:34:28 Cine.lan charon[17862]: 09[IKE] 166.177.58.137 is initiating an IKE_SA
Jan 21 22:34:30 Cine.lan charon[17862]: 10[IKE] 166.177.58.137 is initiating an IKE_SA
when I try to connect from my iOS device. No explanation in the logs besides that!

Any help? Any thoughts/assistance on installing it on the OS X front?
