[strongSwan] strongswan plugins and GPL

Hi,

So, strongswan is licensed under GPLv2

What if I develop my own charon plugin for let's say an IPsec backend? Is
this together with charon considered a single program and consequently the
GPL license follows my plugin? Obligating me to distribute the source for
the plugin?

I know this query on GPL/plugins is something that comes up frequently in
opensource world but I haven't seen any specific statement in relation to
strongswan so would be grateful for your input.

Thanks,

Jamie
