sorry, I can't see why it doesn't work for the NATed case. I can't help 
you there.

Perhaps you can switch back to strongswan 4.3 and check if there's a 
difference between the routing tables, routing policies, iptables rules, 
ipsec SAs or ipsec policies which get installed by the two strongswan 
versions.
