It does in fact, though I also would have implemented it myself ;)
Thanks for doing this for me. When do you plan on merging this into
master?

Just out of curiosity: did the locking issue actually cause charon to
crash or did you/someone else find it reviewing the code? Because to me
the time window in which it can cause trouble seems quite small.
