Hi,

for those of you who are still using the strongSwan 2.8 branch,
there is a new maintenance release offering the following
two improvements implemented upon user request:

- If a DynDNS lookup failure occurs when resolving right=%<FQDN>
[or right=<FQDN> combined with rightallowany=yes] then the
connection is not updated by ipsec starter, thus preventing
the disruption of an active IPsec connection. Only after the
DNS lookup successfully returns again with a changed IP address
the corresponding connection definition will be updated.

- Re-introduced the USE_XAUTH_VID compile option in Makefile.inc
because some Windows VPN clients do not like the the XAUTH VID
if the eXtended AUTHentication is not going to be used. The
   default value is USE_XAUTH_VID=true.

These two features have of course also been included in our active
strongSwan 4.1 branch as an incentive to consider migration ;-)

The new release is available from our site

or directly via the link

Best regards

Andreas
