[strongSwan] Mac OS 10.10 Client to Linux Strongswan server HASH N(AUTH_FAILED) error

Yes,  my ipsec.secrets contains this line:
: RSA RH7Standard.vpnHostPrivateKey.der

Do  I need to convert it to a .pem format?
