"The use of "::" indicates multiple groups of 16-bits of zeros."</div>
<div>However the revised version of the same RFC 4291 specifies:</div>
<div>"The use of "::" indicates one or more groups of 16 bits of zeros."</div>

<div>Moreover, Linux IP stack and POSIX inet_pton are fine with the same address representation. Please let me know if the issue is known (and possibly fixed).</div>
